The Real Housewives of Seattle |
The Hyland Life was an American reality television series that premiered on PiperTV on January 2, 2012 and concluded on July 5, 2022. It was a spin-off series of The Real Housewives of Seattle as it followed housewife Audrey Hyland's journey from planning her wedding, having her daughter, and eventually expanding her real estate business to include house flipping projects. It aired eight seasons and focused on the personal and professional life of Audrey along with her friends, co-workers, and family members residing in Seattle, Washington.
Background[edit | edit source]
During filming for the third season of The Real Housewives of Seattle, Audrey Hyland got engaged to her then-boyfriend, Sean Marsh. Following the end of the third season and a tumultuous relationship with many cast members, Hyland, along with now-fiancée Marsh, were approached by Checkmate Media Productions and Piper TV executives to move their wedding special to a spin-off series as they felt her time on Housewives had come to a close and wanted to focus more on their new family life. Hyland and Marsh agreed to an initial one year contract for a 10-episode order.
The Hyland Life followed the daily lives of Audrey Hyland, her fiancée/husband Sean Marsh (in seasons 1-3), and other business associates at Hyland's real estate business: Hyland Homes. The first season documented Hyland preparing for her upcoming nuptials to Sean Marsh while also launching her real estate business and an unexpected bundle of joy. In April 2012, the series was renewed for a second season. Season 2 premiered on October 1, 2012. The second season encompasses Hyland as she deals with her first pregnancy, takes care of her family, constructs her dream home, and welcomes her daughter: Nicole Marsh. In January 2013, the series was renewed for a third season, which premiered on July 29, 2013. The third season encompasses Hyland as she deals with new motherhood in her brand new dream home while juggling her real estate demands and those of her husband.
Sean met Audrey Hyland in April 2010 while Hyland was vacationing in New York City for a relaxing weekend along with fellow Real Housewives cast member, Mandi Winchester. Hyland and Marsh started dating in May 2010 and entered a whirlwind romance making tabloids chatter for months. The couple later got engaged on December 3, 2010. The pair later married on September 10, 2011. On May 24, 2012, Hyland gave birth to their first and only child, daughter Nicole Shannon Marsh. In late November 2013, Hyland and Marsh separated and Hyland ultimately filed for divorce on December 16, 2013. In Febraury 2014, Hyland, in a join statement with Piper TV executive and television personality Justin Monroe, announced that The Hyland Life would be going on hiatus while she sorts out her business and personal life. In August 2014, it was confirmed that Hyland was to return to The Real Housewives of Seattle as a full-time cast member for the seventh season, which later premiered on February 23, 2015.
Premise[edit | edit source]
In the first season, Audrey Hyland prepares her life for two of life's biggest milestones: a wedding and a baby, back-to-back. Hyland prepares for motherhood and weds Sean Marsh, while developing her career as a real estate agent with the help of her assistant, Nathan Banks.
The second season follows more of Hyland as she focuses on pregnancy, marriage, real estate and skating. She continues to grow her business and venture into new areas, with her new real estate team member, Daphne French. Hyland deals with the tensions of visiting family members from out of town. During this season, Hyland turns 30 and celebrates the birth of her daughter: Nicole Shannon Marsh. She also contemplates her future and considers the proper measures to ensure her family's security in case of emergency.
The third and (original) final season of The Hyland Life chronicles the boom of Hyland Homes, introducing some added luxuries into Hyland's life: a large new dream home, remote vacations, and a larger staff are all part of the perks. As things change, Hyland adjusts to her marriage, lawsuits, and life in the public eye.

Hyland ultimately collaborated with the production team to facilitate a set-up for real production equipment to document more of her construction work. The show resumed filming with a full crew in July 2020 and ultimately concluded in late September 2020. The seventh season premiered on November 5, 2020. This season highlighted the work Hyland and her team completed amidst a global crisis while maintaining proper safety while also introducing her new boyfriend, Aaron. In July 2021, the show was renewed for an eighth season, which premiered on April 12, 2022. This season chronicles Hyland as she departs The Real Housewives of Seattle for the second time and contemplates life with now-serious boyfriend, Aaron.
